Adding a web service (statistics, clock...) to my sidebars
- How to add a web service (statistics, clock...) to my sidebars?
- The software does not accept the code I submitted, what should I do?
- There is some advertising on my blog: why?
- My blog is very slow when opening: why?
If you want to add some webservices into your blog's sidebars you must follow exactly the same steps as when adding contents to your sidebars (texts, images, others):
- Click on heading Design and then on the section Sidebar content.
- Fill in the form Create a custom item by copy-pasting its javascript code, as given to you by the internet site you want to take the "widget" from.
- Click on the button Add this item to confirm and save.
- Click on the link Add to left sidebar or Add to right sidebar to insert the new item in the sidebar.
- Click on the button Update informations to save.
Possible error:
In case you are facing some problems while saving your item, simply add {literal} at the beginning and {/literal} at the end.
Example: {literal}Your code {/literal}
Warning: advertising!: some web services try to secretly invade your blog spaces with their advertising. This type of advertising is being submitted to your blog via the javascript tag that those services ask you to copy/paste into your sidebars. Always check carefully the tags you are pasting into your blog's sidebars.
Warning: slowness! : the more services you add to your sidebars, the longer will it take for internet browsers of your readers to load your blog's pages. Indeed the internet browsers cannot display the contents of the central column of your blog as long as they haven't completely loaded all the sidebar items first. If some of the services you have uploaded suffer from a slow hosting service, they will slow the whole of your blog down. In the bottom right corner of your internet browser are generally indicated the items the browser is loading while trying to open them: look carefully at them in order to identify the one(s) that eventually slow down your blog.
