The heading Access restriction
The heading access restriction under the category Control Panel allows you to define protected access to your blog and all of its contents (lists, albums, etc.).
A private blog is useful to share information among family and friends. Furthermore, it serves to protect contents from the public.
Additionally, you can use a private blog to share projects, point of views, documents etc. among your colleagues.
If you want to add a protected access to your blog you have to give it a private status. Only visitors informed of your defined user name and password can access the contents of your blog.
To add an access, enter the following information:- Access name : You can name your access as a reminder. This field is optional.
- User name / password : These 2 fields must be filled in to create a valid access.
Click on the Add this access button to save your information.
Error messages :
- This field is required : the user name and the pssword of your access have to be provided in order to create protected access to your blog.
Note: Your user name and password to the administration area are different from the ones YOU defined to give access to your blog. People to whom you granted access to your blog will NOT be able to access your administration area.
Once your accesses have been created, the "Current site access" table displays the name and login of each access you have created. For security reasons the password is not displayed.
In this table you can :- Delete a protected access : check off the corresponding box and click on the Delete button.
Remark: if you delete all restricted accesses you previously created, your weblog will become public.
