The heading Settings

The Settings section allows you to select publication options for all your posts. In order to get there click on the heading settings in the category Posts.

Publishing options

The first part of the page allows you to modify your default posts settings (settings that are displayed by default when you write a new post). These settings can be modified for every new post under the New post' heading.

  • Standard editor: this section allows you to define the standard editor that will be used for your posts.
    • TEXT editor : this editor displays the HTML code of your post.
    • HTML editor : this editor displays your post in the way it will be displayed on your blog (WYSIWYG). The corresponding HTML code is not shown.
  • Standard post format:
    • Respect line breaks : this option keeps the line breaks when you press the "Enter" key on your keyboard.
    • None: the text is displayed in the HTML format (recommended only to advanced users).
  • Standard publication status:
    • Publish now: your new posts are immediately published on your weblog.
    • Draft: your new posts are saved as drafts.

Comments settings

The second part of the page allows you to select the default comments settings (settings that are displayed when you write a new post). These settings can be modified for every new post in the category "New post".

  • Close comments automatically after : To avoid spam on old posts, we recommend you to choose a certain period of time after which comments will automatically be closed on your posts. By default, comments will be closed 2 weeks after the publication of the post. You can choose a different time frame or you can decide to not close comments automatically.
  • Default comments status :
    • Open : your readers can add their comments to your post. This option is perfect to start discussions on topics which you have posted.
    • Closed : your readers are unable to add their comments to your post. This option can be useful after a few days in order to close a discussion about an open topic and it can spare you some time to handle the most recent topics.
    • None : no comments are allowed on your post.
  • Receive a notification email :
    • Yes : we will send you an email to alert you when a new comment has been added to your post. Thus, you can quickly participate in the discussions your posts have generated.
  • Moderation of comments :
    • Never : comments you receive on your weblog are never moderated.
    • Always : comments you receive on your weblog are always moderated. An email informs you of every new comment you have received. You can choose to publish or refuse the comment.
    • Everyday between xx o’clock and yy o’clock : you can choose a time period during which comments on your blog are moderated. For example, you can activate moderation between 8 am and 8 pm.
    • Every weekend and weekdays between xx o’clock and yy o’clock : you can choose a weekday time period during which comments on your blog are moderated. For example, you can activate moderation between 8 am and 8 pm. Comments are also moderated during the weekend.

Trackback settings

The third part of the page enables you to select the default trackbacks settings (settings that are displayed when you write a new post). These settings can be modified for every new post in the category "New post" (advanced options)

  • Close trackbacks automatically after : To avoid spam on old posts, we recommend you choose a time after which trackbacks will automatically be closed on your posts. By default, trackbacks will be closed 2 weeks after the publication of the post. If you want you can choose not to close trackbacks automatically.
  • Authorize trackbacks :
    • Yes : your readers can trackback your post. After your post you will thus see the beginning of other posts that reference yours.
    • No : your readers cannot trackback your post.
  • Trackback auto-discovery :
    • Yes : the system checks every link you made in your post and, if possible, sends a trackback to these blogs. If your linked blogs accept trackbacks, then the beginning of your post will be displayed in those blogs.
    • No : choose this option if you do not want other bloggers to know you made a link to them in your post.
