The Butterfly inside my neck went wild

and tried to free himself

by flying high

leaving me in a frenzy

and making me sick

until they clipped his wings

and I was alright again

at least for a while

But butterflies that cannot fly

will wither away

and eventually die

He left me feeling

weak and old before my time

took all my strength

and joie de vivre

when he said goodbye

Now living without that colourful guy

is harsh and bleak

and at times not worth while

but I refuse to give up

and thus I fight with all I've got

and struggle on

and maybe someday
