Tim Burton was an animation designer for Family Dog, an episode of Amazing Stories. It's a little bit retarded, but it's cute... ish. I find it amusing that Tim Burton was involved in the only animated episode ever aired.Part 2Part 3

The Baby Dream In my dream, someone don't want the baby to be found, the...

          The Baby Dream

In my dream, someone don't want the baby to be found, the baby that isn't really a baby at all. But anyway, they hide it somewhere, in a body of another woman. Then people are looking for the baby, and the person who hide it hope that in time, after a while, they will forget the baby ever exist, because he hid it so well, in another person's body. All the people are getting more and more nervous cause the baby can't take care of herself, cause she is a baby, and also, they know that something happened cause babies can't walk or take off on their own.

Then, I don't know if it's a few minutes or years and years, but definitely time has passed cause the search is not as stressed and as hurried as it was at first, and there are less people looking around. Someone finally approaches the other woman, the one that the baby was hidden inside, and look at her, straight, from the front, and then, they pick up the lead off the woman, suddenly she is very small, and they can hod her in the palm of their hand, and take the lid off, like one of those Japanese lacquer boxes - a box shaped like a woman with her features drawn or printed on the lead and then covered in many layer of lacquer till it's a part of the wood or papier-mâché the woman shape box is made of.

Inside, there are a stalk of paper, cut to match right into the box, like a woman's silhouette block of post-its or note papers. on the first one there's a drawing or a photo of the horizon line - two shades of vivid blue, one of the sea and one of the sky. the hand holding the box and taking out the paper one after the other, their hand moving fast. and the transition looks like flip book animation, at first there's a dot in the horizon line, but then as more and more papers are being pulled out of the box, the image of the baby is becoming bigger and closer. The baby is sitting in a small boat and rowing hard in the water, trying to row faster then the sea, to get back to shore. The image of the baby get bigger and bigger until finally she fills up the piece of paper and can step out of the box.

The colors of the sea and sky, are azure and very vivid, like the blues on the cover of the book I'm reading now. The baby is actually a woman, she's naked and have a long brown hair woven into a braid. She looks a little like me, or at least the me that is sometime in dreams. Who is thinner and younger then I really am and do not wear glasses. But she is not me. Or maybe they are all me, the baby, the woman it's hidden in and the person who brought one out of the other.

Cat's Eye

I'm reading Margaret's Atwood's "Cat's Eye" on the cover, a mysterious image - a figure clocked in dark blue, like an angel or a hermit, faceless, Holding a large azure blue ball that shine in her hands. The figure is floating above a wooden bridge, behind it, naked trees and there's snow falling, The bridge is covered in a thin layer of snow. underneath it, a black box with the name of the author and the words "Booker prize - Winning author of "The blind assassin" the sentence is all in capital letters and the name of the book is in italics. Underneath that, there's a turquoise box with some lighter torquiest decorative pattern and the name of this book.

The snow on the cover looks very realistic but when I look up close it's all paint drips some bigger and some smaller that looks just like snow, in fact, I don't even realize that it's paint drips until I look on the back of the cover where a strip from the sky is used as decoration and without knowing it's supposed to be snow, I recognize the small paint drops.

I bought it in Barns and Nobel about a month ago, I was standing in the store, looking at one Margaret Etwood's books, feeling a little foolish, I never know she wrote so much and I already read "Oryx and Crake" which is why I want to read something else by her. All the book cover have the same layout but different colors and images. And all of them have the line "Booker prize - Winning author of "The blind assassin" on the cover, I decide to read "the Blind assassin, but before I find it, I take out "cat's eye" and something about the colors and the name catch my eyes and I take it instead.

I pay at the cashier who put the book and another book inside a plastic green bag, and I put the book inside my own bag and walk out of the store. When I get home I see that the cover is torn, there's a long line that look like a white scare cm or two from the figure, opening it I see that the glue holding the pages isn't holding the cover so well, and that if I'm not careful, the cover can break off.

I feel stupid, for not taking a better look at the book before paying for it, or even worst - that it was in a good shape when I left the store and that I was careless in putting it inside my pack pack till it tore.

I don't know why I'm so bothered, the last few books I read I found on the street and they were old and the pages were yellowing. This is not some one of a kind first first addition or anything, it's just a paper back book. Maybe cause I feel foolish for choosing a book because of the image on the cover, maybe because trying not to collect things, having a damaged book feels disrespectful. I'm not sure.

I open the book a few times, reading a page here and a page there, but somehow the scare on the cover and the unfolding glue makes it uninviting and I remember the feeling of disappointment every time I open it. It stay unread till one night, I can't sleep and then I sink into it, reading over 100 pages in one go.
