Hi there! It's quite a long time since I've visited my blog.. dunno what happened and suddenly I stopped updating this. Well, to be honest, I've been very busy with a lot of things, most especially work.. family.. taking care of everything, and some ups and downs but the good thing is, I'm back!

There are lot of things in earth that you can't explain. Suddenly, a thought will struck you just like that and you will start feeling anxious and unfulfilled with your life. It seems that you are going in wrong direction the whole times. It sucks you know, to think that you are living your life with all the lies and uncertainty of the future, not only for you but for your family..

Now, I realized that I need to focus on one thing that will make my future as well as my family in correct direction. That is to be there with my family always, and at the same time taking care of their needs. At the moment, I am far from my family, though I'm stable financially at present, but I know that things in this life are not forever. I need to act now and I will definitely taking baby steps to do that..

Will let you know what happened then.. till next time.. thanks for you time. I will be starting to post inspirational and motivational articles again to help everyone to cope with the "thing" we called LIFE.

As everything is relative, so everything is in itself equal in value, equally beautiful and equally abominable — infinitely beautiful and infinitely abominable. Everything being equal in beauty, and having no real beauty of itself, the only thing that we should seek is the perception of beauty in itself, since that is the only real beauty we will find. Or rather, it is the closest to real beauty we can ever find — for no beauty is real. Beauty is but in our minds. It is something we imagine, and by imagining it, we make it real.

Outside our imagination, nothing is ever beautiful, and this is a curse we must bear; for whatever we may think to be beautiful, it is never beautiful in itself, and so no beauty we ever see will last outside ourselves; and it may be that when we think we have found beauty, it is only to find later that it no longer holds any beauty to us anymore. If beauty lies but in ourselves, it can never be certain, for nothing that lies in ourselves is. What lies in ourselves can always change.

The tragedy is that the perception of beauty, which is all that matters in the universe, is infinitely fragile, and it may shatter literally in a moment through the force of suffering, or worse, ignorance.

Because perception is so relative, so too is beauty, and beauty can be perceived in literally anything at all, no matter how ugly we tend to perceive it. Thus, to find beauty one must not only seek what one sees as beautiful, but also see the things you have already found as beautiful. The perception of beauty is called love, though love may also be many other things.

Things have no value of themselves whatsoever. Things can only have value to us when we give them that value, and one can only give something value through love. If life seems worthless, that is because you give it no value. If life seems precious, it is because you give it its value. Neither is an absolute truth. But why should we choose to give only certain things in life their value in the form of love, while not others?

Love, in its earliest form, still as a germ, usually inevitably comes with attachment, and so fear, and ultimately hatred for anything that threatens that which we are attached to, and these remain until our love has become perfected. Usually, it is only if our love grows steadily, so that it grows already being close to perfection, it does not cause attachment. Attachment arises when our love grows faster than we can deal with.

Perhaps we can so see the evil within us, in the form of fear and hate, at least in part, as a good sign. It means that we are growing, and that we are growing fast. That we hate means that we love, and that we love so much that we are prepared to make the sacrifice of suffering for it. When we make this sacrifice, we must bear it, however, and not impose it upon others; it is our own burden. Others did not choose to share in it.

It is, in fact, easy to get rid of all suffering, but only if one gives up one's love. Love, once found, however, is so strong that one rarely finds the force to dispose of it again, unless one has descended into extreme tendencies of self-destruction, such as drug addiction.

Life is as hard as you are willing to make it. Life will never be easy unless you make it so. Remember this when you are suffering. It is the cross you bear to love. You can always be freed of it if you give up that love, and stop caring about anything in unfeeling emptiness. To suffer, until you are perfected, is your own choice.

Suffering, it itself, is not necessary to grow. But nonetheless, that we are suffering means that we are growing. It means that we have not given up, and that we are trying. For failure is always also a sign of success.

Of Boredom and Business (Published on July 23, 2004 in Daily Independent) During my days abroad many funny things happened. Once I attended a compatriot’s birthday party in Moscow. There were a lot of drinks, dainty dishes and invitees around. I said to join the amusement, “You know people of China and Japan, they are so great nations, but they do two things in a very boring manner.” All pairs of eyes turned to me. “The Japanese way of taking tea and Chinese way of making love are quite boring” I added. Some listeners laughed loudly but Eno, a Chinese girl, blushed a little. “Well, I don’t mean to embarrass anyone.” I was afraid of having offended her. However, I continued, “What is boring in Russia —can anyone answer?” Before anyone could open his or her mouth, Rosendo—our Peruvian friend took the floor. “One thing is damn boring about Russian girls” Rosendo replied and continued, “Their way of changing friends—you will never find them holding the same guy’s hand twice, it is so puzzling man!” Rosendo talked with fake seriousness on his face. “Anyway, I appreciate their taste of variety”. He added to end the observation in a friendly note. Rosendo was an amateur comedian, always making jokes and telling hilarious tales. This time his humour seemed to have riled a few Russian girls who were also around. “So, is there nothing boring in Bangladesh?” One Japanese gentleman asked me, seeking to pull my leg. “Certainly, there are plenty of boring things in our country. Our way of making friends is quite tedious, particularly with girls, it may take six months to kiss or hug.” A buzz of astonishment rose from the audience. Much later, I admitted to myself, there are a number of boring affairs in our country besides kissing or hugging a girlfriend. Once I was traveling from Dhaka to Sylhet by an inter-city train. I booked a first-class ticket but was surprised to find the compartment packed with passengers—standing, sitting almost on top of each other. It was a hot, stuffy day. The train was moving in a very clumsy way—stopping, dropping and picking up passengers all the way like the local buses plying between Farmgate and Gulistan. One fellow sitting next to me gasped, “What a boring trip!” Another man retorted quickly, “For you boring, but for the train staff business.” Another day I had to visit the Secretariat to get a particular clearance. It was not my first look at a public office—blank chairs, huge stack of files, a bunch of so-called, indifferent civil servants, I found nothing unusual. Anyway, the officer I was supposed to see was in a meeting then. So, I had to wait for a while. When he came back, I sprang form my chair since it was essential but he rushed out of the room once again saying in a hurry, “I am too occupied today, please meet me tomorrow.” I did go there the next day, but was not lucky enough to find him unoccupied. So, I kept going to that place again and again but on every occasion I was shown the same crocodile cub—almost the same sort of excuses. Finally, while I was leaving in an upset mood, a clerk of that office approached me and said in a rather low tone, “You won’t get your work done in this way. Just make the officer happy and things will be fine.” I didn’t have to ask how to make the officer happy. I felt disgusted, so I grumbled out of sheer annoyance, “How boring!” The clerk quipped instantly, “For you boring, but for the boss business.” Our public offices are like iceboxes, anything once placed there gets stuck. One has to pay frequent visits, wait for unlimited hours to make the ice thaw. So, boredom is there, in one country at the most private moment of men and women, in another while taking tea. Dozens of turtles, presumably on a mating spree, shut down a runway at John F. Kennedy International Airport Wednesday morning for 35 minutes, causing flight delays of an hour and a half.

The 78 diamondback terrapins were picked up, put into a pickup truck and removed from the runway, said John Kelly, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. They were originally spotted around 8:30 a.m. by a pilot, who radioed the tower.

There has been a surprising amount of half-shell news in the last year around the city. A two-headed one was stolen in Brooklyn last August. And a 60-pound tortoise showed up in the Bronx in April.

These turtles were 8 to 10 inches long and weighed 2 to 3 pounds. Mr. Kelly volunteered a number of turtle puns, saying the morning phenomenon was perhaps an ultimate example of “slow, sweet love.”

I know I've mentioned this before, but here is again because I like saying it. I'm engaged. Getting married with all that economic brouhaha going on may sound like a bad idea, unless of course, you are planning to elope. Which is exactly what we had decided to do years ago; being private people it always made sense to us. Now it makes even better sense!

There are still certain costs associated with our getting married, but mostly just revolving around the holiday we plan to take during that period. We will be eloping early next year, and with it being something I am really looking forward to, I am actually planning ahead of time.

I have a list of what I need to have organised, such as the paperwork for the marriage, the hotel reservation, the activities we plan to do on our holiday, find and buying the rings, and what all that will come to in the end so we have specific goal in mind for saving towards this. When I was planning this, I actually thought the very first thing to do was to get a joint savings account. We both already bank with Nationwide Building Society, so it made sense to get a savings account with them, which makes it extremely easy to transfer our savings in there when we get our pay each month. I think online banking is the best!

I am more than a little excited, really. I am having a great time thinking about having a day that we can spoil ourselves on, go and do anything we want, take in a show, visit places we have been meaning to visit for such a long time, and of course, best of all, finally being married to the man I love.

Getting this all prepared truly is a labor of love, one that I am really excited to be in charge of, and really happy that we are doing it our own way! I am very much looking forward to our holiday too!

The Meaning of Love

The butterfly effect says that very small changes can have very large results. It is famously quoted that the flap of a butterfly's wings in Brasil may cause a tornado in Texas — imagine! This is more than just a thought experiment; it actually happens.
This is so because of chaos. The Universe is so complex that extremely small changes may have extremely large consequences. For one thing, the world consists of atoms, and all of those atoms, in the whole world, are connected to one another at the speed at sound of their respective material; above all, those atoms in turn consist of quanta of energy, and all those quanta, in the whole universe, are connected to each other at the speed of light and perhaps beyond.
This is so because the universe is emergent. Every layer of existence arises from the layer below it; the human level arises from the cellular level, the cellular level from the atomic level. When the butterfly flaps its wings, the energy of its motion spreads across the atoms around it across the entire planet and even the entire universe.
At the atomic level, it takes at most 19 hours before its energy has spread across the planet in the form of sound waves; it gets no further than the earth for a very long time because there are few atoms in space. However, at the quantum level, it takes just one fiftieth of a second before it has spread across the planet, and a hundred thousand years before it has spread across the entire galaxy, in the form of light waves.
After all, the way the butterfly moves affects the way light shines on it, and so too the way it will shine onto other elementary particles, which will then in turn affect other elementary particles until every atom in the world is very, very slightly different. Very, very slightly, but that is enough given that this counts for every atom in the whole world to potentially have dramatic consequences.
Next time you see a butterfly, run for your lives.
It might go even further than that. The mass of the butterfly has a very tiny influence on the Earth's gravitational field, and the flap of its wings will change that influence. This effect is extremely small, of course, but quantum mechanics is so extremely chaotic that even so, it may still have enormous effects. The tiniest gravitational wave will affect the atoms it affects, and even if it is just by a femtometer, that's more than enough, as the atom affects all other atoms on the same planet. If gravity travels faster than light, then its gravitational influence will also have a faster effect on the universe than its electromagnetic influence, despite the fact that the latter is much stronger.
Tom van Flandern calculated that the speed of gravity is 20 billion times that of light, and if this is true, it would take two years and four months for the flap of a butterfly to affect the entire observable universe. Through an incredible snowball effect, the slightest movement of a single atom could, in this way, change the course of history throughout the entire observable universe.
If one thinks about this further, this becomes so frightening that it will profoundly change the way one looks at the world. For this is far, far more than a bit of scientific trivia; it casts a different light on the meaning of everything we do in our lives.
Over an infinite amount of time, every action, every event, will randomly cause infinite suffering as well as joy, and also prevent infinite suffering and joy. It will, in fact, have infinitely diverse consequences. That is to say, given that the universe is infinite; even if it is not infinite, then this effect will still be inestimably large. In a universe that is not only infinitely large but also infinitely complex, this infinite butterfly effect is not only infinite over time but also instantly (see entry "subcosmic and supercosmic levels").
Whatever we do, then, will cause cataclysms far greater than we could even begin to imagine, from human to astronomical extent. What, then, is the meaning of our actions here and now, if not for the enrichment of our own lives?
Nothing we do will make the slightest difference in the long run: for whatever we do, both the destruction as well as the creation we cause without even trying to do so is already infinite, and so neither will be greater, nor can either be made greater or smaller; the two will always be equal, since they are both infinite, and infinity divided by infinity is undefined.
In this aspect, all entities in the universe are equal in worth; all of us are Gods, and so is every tiniest bit of energy. Everything in the universe is so infinitely connected that it has no use to cling to such values as dignity except for ourselves and our own lives.
We should but love, then, for the beauty of love, not for what it does to others or to the world; this I say for all kinds of love, from the love of a friend to love of one's occupation. If one sees how people benefit from one's love, then that is a beautiful thing; but it is no more than that. It is not of any actual importance to the world; only to one's own world.
From the viewpoint of severe psychopaths, there is no reason at all to love someone, nor, aside from law, any reason not to kill someone if they wish to. After all, it does not make a difference to themselves, and neither does it make a difference to the universe. But they will never know the beauty of true love unless they somehow learn to see it.
Many people go so far as to state that everything we do is done out of selfishness. This is one perception, but it is no more than that, a mere way of looking at things: it is no more or less correct than any other. Though one could interpret this as selfishness, it is merely an interpretation. It is indeed true that, one way or another, we do whatever we do for our own feelings; even if we do something for others, we do so merely for our own feelings, be it our feelings for others or our feelings about ourselves. One could then say that we do everything for our "self."
The fact of the matter is, this merely depends on how one defines "self." If the self is our consciousness, and we are conscious of other people, then to the extent that we are conscious of them, they become part of ourselves. The only reason why we are ourselves more than we are others is because we are more conscious of ourselves, since, after all, we live in ourselves, and so are conscious of all our perceptions; whereas, if we have compassion for others, we share only part of their perceptions, so that we are them to a far lesser extent than we are ourselves.
Put in a more scientific way: from a neurological viewpoint, our selves are usually defined as our brain, or rather as the contents of our brain. It appears that we are not the matter our brain comprises but rather the information it stores; but this information concerns both ourselves and others. When we empathize with someone, we construct a "scale model" of his or her feelings within our own brain (at least, of what we think his or her feelings to be). In this way, our brain attempts to integrate part of someone else's feelings — a purely evolutionary mechanism, one could say, but also the most beautiful mechanism of our organism, for it gives us the ability to love. When one empathizes with someone, one could say that one thereby becomes partly unified with them, as one's emotions become partly synchronized with theirs. Love is a connection with other beings. When we love someone, whatever we do we still do for ourselves, but our selves have come to partially include another person or their feelings.
Should we still love, then, if love is useless but to ourselves? That love is useless on the whole does not make it meaningless. Love is the most beautiful thing in the universe, not only to the people we love but also to ourselves.

In what we are, all of us are of infinite value to the universe, yet in what we do none of us will ever make even the most infinitesimal difference to it. We can only make a difference to our own lives, though what our lives are includes the connections they have with others'.

Saturday, February 14, 2009: I have no St. Valentine's Day celebration today. There is no love in my life--no human love of any kind, shape or form. I don't feel sorry for myself. What I am is just sad.

I have loved deeply and well and I have no regrets. My love was Forbidden, but I felt it all the same. But I do wish I had a special someone in my life, someone I could be crazy about.

Light is love. In this it is merciful, even for the dark. Love spares what it loves, even if it hurts; only hate can destroy. While light may increase positive things, it may not decrease negative things; only darkness can decrease negative things, though it cannot increase positive things. Day casts light both on that which is beautiful and that which is ugly, or is seen as such; night hides both in darkness.Of course, what is good or bad depends entirely on one's perception, but what perception is good or bad itself, as well, depends on one's perception of it in turn. Positive and negative are entirely subjective, as are all things.If in the eternity of time, aught has achieved to become one with the Universe or even near, then its infinite light must love all people and all things in the Universe for it to exist at all, and so it does not seek to change them; not even oblivion, chaos, suffering, ignorance, or lack of free will. If there is a God, then God is infinite love, love for everything, even all the things that we hate, and even for our hate of those things, and for our hate of our hate and so on.For love has not the strength to undo that upon which it shines its light; and hate has not the strength to become one with the universe, for if it would do so it would come to hate itself and destroy itself.In an infinite universe all things already are. Changing such a universe would mean to remove something from it, for one cannot add anything to it. There is nothing that could become one with the Universe, and thereby become the Universe, without loving it altogether as it is.Such is the bane of God's love.
